Job summary

ATI in Monroe, NC is seeking a skilled machinist to operate band saws and grinders, inspect billets, and prepare materials for further processing. You will follow established procedures, read work orders, maintain equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

You will also manage inventories, document results, and support maintenance and alignment of production lines to keep furnaces supplied with material and meet schedule requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow written procedures.
• Able to properly use measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate band saw to cut materials according to procedures.
• Operate grinder to achieve required finish.
• Cut billets, ingots, bars, shapes to specified lengths; sample for metallurgical use.
• Stamp or identify all pieces following procedures.
• Operate crane and forklift to move material and set for cutting lengths.
• Change band saw blades and grinding wheels; maintain cooling supply.
