Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Band Saw Operator to slice bun blocks according to customer specifications in a cost efficient manner. This non-exempt, hourly role requires attention to safety and quality, and the ability to follow work orders and procedures.

You will locate material, program the saw, cut to specifications, and move finished product through production. A high school diploma or GED is required; strong mechanical aptitude and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read work orders.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and operate tools carefully.

Responsibilities

  • Receive work orders from lead person at the beginning of each shift.
  • Locate material to be produced and move materials to the band saw area.
  • Program band saw with the correct size according to the customer specifications.
  • Turn on band saw machine and begin the cutting of the product.
  • Unload finished product onto flats.
  • Move product to next operation.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in production area.
  • Practice proper safety techniques.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary
