Main duties of the job

Defence Primary Healthcare delivers a clinicalservice in accordance with National Health Service (NHS) Standards and Ministryof Defence policies. You will primarily provide dental treatment, oral hygieneinstruction and education, administration, enhancing force generation andoperational capability and minimising dental morbidity on operations. Whilealso providing, if requested, clinical and administrative support for theprovision of dental care in other local Defence Primary Healthcare sites orhealth fairs.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are notlimited to:

  • Provide dental hygiene treatment in line with their approved scope ofpractice as per General Dental Council guidelines and in accordance withagreed patient group directive (PGD).
  • Accurately record treatment on each patients electronic health record onDefence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP).
  • Ensure their surgery is prepared appropriately for the days patients inaccordance with current regulations.
  • Maintain the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodationfor which they are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordancewith local protocols.
