Job summary

Goodwillsandusky is seeking a part-time Baler Operator at the Bellevue Plant in Bellevue, OH. You will bale products for recycling that meet quality and safety standards, and report to the Logistics/Warehouse Supervisor.

You will follow safety policies, maintain production sheets, assist as needed, keep the workspace clean, attend safety trainings, and promote teamwork. High school diploma or GED preferred; 2 years’ manufacturing experience preferred; lifting up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Safety/OSHA regulations.
• Ability to safely use power tools as required to maintain facility and equipment.
• Ensures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment when required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs consistently.

Responsibilities

• Follow established policies and procedures on the baling process, including use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Ensure workstation has the correct components and safety procedures have been followed prior to assembly.
• Maintain open communication with supervisors, team leaders and material handlers regarding production status.
• Maintain daily production sheets utilizing correct task codes; ensure totals are accurate.
• Assist as Box Truck Helper as necessary.
• Maintain a good attendance record.
• Maintain work area, including sweeping and trash disposal.
• Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols.
• Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential functions:

• Follow established policies and procedures on the baling process, including use ofPersonal Protective Equipment.
• Ensure that the workstationcontains thecorrect components and safety procedures have been followed prior to assembly.
• Maintain open communication with supervisors, team leaders and material handlers regarding productionstatus (i.e., downtime, material shortage, etc.).
• Maintain daily production sheets utilizing thecorrect task codes for production time, downtime, floor time, etc.; ensure that daily production totals are accurate.
• Assists as Box Truck Helper as necessary.
• Maintain a good attendance record.
• Maintain work area, including sweeping, emptying garbage, etc.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees at all times.
• Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and required skills:

• Knowledge of Safety/OSHA regulations.
• Ability to safely use power tools as required to maintain facility and equipment.
• Ensures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment when required.
• Ability to use physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, reaching andclimbing; ability to lift up to 25lbs. consistently.

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
