Job summary

GPM Investments LLC is seeking a Bale Room Attendant to manage the movement and baling of paper waste and cardboard. You will collect scrap from production areas, feed the baler, and bundle finished bales for pickup or recycling, keeping the bale room orderly and safe.

You will monitor the baler, tag and weigh bales, and maintain records of counts and shipments while following all safety rules and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow safety procedures and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills (counts, weights).
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Experience operating a baler or similar compacting equipment.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect paper waste and cardboard from production areas and move to the bale room using carts, hoppers, or powered equipment.
• Operate the baler following standard operating procedures.
• Monitor the baler while it runs and shut it down and report problems immediately.
• Tie off, remove, weigh, and tag completed bales.
• Stack and stage bales in designated areas for pickup.
• Keep accurate records of bale counts, weights, and shipments.
• Sort material by grade and keep contaminants out of the bales.
• Keep the bale room and surrounding aisles clean and free of trip hazards.
• Perform basic daily inspections of the baler and equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety rules, including lockout/tagout procedures, and wear required PPE.
• Support other warehouse tasks as assigned
