• Maintain clean, organized work area and stock cases with presentation in mind

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names
• Wrap, weigh, and label product accurately and apply merchandising labels
• Stock cases and rotate product with an emphasis on presentation
• Serve as the final inspector of product before it is displayed, ensuring quality and appearance standards
• Maintain signage accuracy and inform managers of any out-of-stock items
• Take customer orders at the bakery counter and answer the telephone promptly
• Assist the designer by decorating and writing on cakes in the designer's absence
• Assist the baker with pulling product from the freezer and dropping cookies, donuts, and similar items
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized at all times
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
