Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers is seeking a friendly Bakery Associate to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a clean, safe bakery environment. You will assist the department manager in reaching sales goals and ensure high-quality bakery products while providing exceptional customer service.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to handle stressful situations, and knowledge of bakery operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bakery experience.
• Retail experience.
• Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
• Maintain clean counters, cases and coolers throughout shifts.
• Meet daily production goals for baked goods.
• Plan and organize tasks with clear time lines and priorities.
• Assist with receiving and stocking merchandise and supplies.
• Learn product knowledge to answer questions and upsell.
• Prepare special orders per customer requests.
• Operate bakery equipment in accordance with company guidelines.
• Ensure ingredients are prepared, labeled and inventoried properly.
• Check product quality and freshness; review sell-by dates.
