Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking a Bakery Team Leader to manage the bakery team, guide staff, and ensure top-quality products for celebrations and gatherings. You’ll coach team members, improve performance, and maintain a professional presence in the store environment.

This role emphasizes leadership, inclusion, safety, and customer-focused service while driving sales and controlling shrink. Compensation includes a competitive hourly range and full store benefits.

Qualifications

• Retail work experience or store leadership recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Age at least 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select and train Team Members.
• Direct the work of Team Members.
• Appraise Team Members’ productivity for promotions or changes in status.
• Handle Team Member issues including complaints.
• Discipline Team Members.
• Plan the work and assign tasks.
• Ensure safety and security of Team Members and the store.
• Manage the department budget and inventory.
• Monitor or implement compliance measures.
• Oversee training to reduce turnover and improve efficiency.
• Provide motivational leadership and example.
