The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Bakery Shop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the ACI Bakery at ASPC-Eyman. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising staff and inmate workers, ensuring high production standards, and maintaining the efficiency and quality of all bakery operations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in bakery production and team management, with the ability to schedule, monitor, and evaluate production processes to ensure maximum effectiveness. This position works closely with other departments and customers, oversees quality control throughout various production stages, and continually seeks to improve processes through research and innovation. Job Duties:

- Supervises staff and inmates in the daily operations of the ACI shop, to include staff and inmate evaluations, and resulting performances
- Interacts with other department staff, customers, and ACI Customer Service Departments
- Approves the quality of products in various stages of the production process
- Calculates and schedules jobs according to their production method in order to complete the job most efficiently and cost-effectively
- Researches and develops more efficient production methods
- Performs on-the-job training
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Supervisory and managerial techniques
- Technical and operational knowledge applicable to a Bakery
- Equipment maintenance
- Budget, personnel, fiscal, and material management principles
- Correctional system and ADCRR policies and procedures
- Manufacturing, production, and quality control techniques and methods applicable to a bakery
- On-the-job training principles and application

Skill in:
- Efficiently operating bakery equipment
- Leadership, supervision, and management
- Communication, decision making, and problem solving
- Analyzing, giving directions, and administration
- Motivation, constructive criticism, and team-building principles

Ability to:
- Evaluate Bakery products and achievements, and formulate plans for improvement
- Apply simple bookkeeping and work scheduling principles

Selective Preference(s):

- At least three (3) years of on-the-job production baking experience, as well as supporting educational experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and a medical/physical examination.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
