Job summary

PopUp Bagels - Brickell in Miami is seeking a Bagel Sous to turn great ingredients and teamwork into an exceptional guest experience. You will master the craft at all bagel stations, maintain high culinary standards, and lead with positive energy on every shift.

You will train teammates on stations and seasonal recipes, help manage prep lists and inventory, open and close the shop, and ensure order accuracy for walk‑ins, pickups, and deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year of leadership experience in a restaurant/hospitality environment.
• Food Safety Certification is required.
• Desire to create exceptional employee & guest experiences.
• Eye for detail and solving challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to roll up sleeves and pitch in wherever necessary.
• Desire for growth within our restaurants.
• Able to perform physical requirements (lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds).

The Role

As a Bagel Sous, you’ll help turn great ingredients and great teamwork into an amazing guest experience.

• Master the craft: Learn and confidently execute every Bagel station, recipe, and kitchen process while maintaining our high culinary standards.

• Lead by example: Bring positive energy to every shift, help lead pre‑shift meetings, and keep the team motivated, organized, and on track.

• Help your team rise: Train teammates on stations, seasonal recipes, food preparation, and operating standards so everyone has the tools to succeed.

• Keep things running smoothly: Partner with your Bagel Chef to manage prep lists, inventory, waste logs, team deployment, and breaks.

• Own the shift: Help open and close the shop, follow checklists, communicate clearly, and make sure tasks get done right and on time.

• Make every order count: Keep food presentation, quality, and order accuracy on point for walk‑in, pickup, and delivery guests.

• Bring solutions, not problems: Help resolve guest concerns, troubleshoot digital ordering issues, and flag equipment maintenance needs.

• Keep it clean and safe: Follow all food safety standards and health department requirements to help maintain our minimum “A” letter grade.

• Jump in wherever needed: Great leaders never ask their team to do something they wouldn’t do themselves!

YOU WILL

• Delegate work appropriately to the team and follow scheduled deployment and breaks.

• Successfully open and close the restaurant using the checklists and thorough communication.

• Lead Pre‑shifts and contribute to the Chef’s agenda.

• Ensure that food presentation and order accuracy are met for all walk‑in, pick‑up, and delivery orders.

• Create solutions regarding guest concerns, digital ordering, and equipment maintenance.

• Help to maintain a minimum standard “A” letter grade by following the Department of Health and PopUp Bagels food safety standards.
