Job Description

This position will require strong management skills paired with market experience to lead a strong, successful Bakery team. In this position you will be required to perform a variety of duties in the bakery department and assist in fulfilling customer orders at the bakery counter with professional and efficient service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Orders product for the department from vendors and keeps proper inventory of back stock
  • Manages back stock freezer and breakfast display cases
  • Clearly communicates to department associates their tasks and duties when the Bakery manager is absent
  • Ensures a positive and productive workflow in the bakery department which can include coordinating breaks based on employee schedule, enforcing uniform policy, and prioritizing accountability with tasks given to associates.
  • Reviews special orders taken by bakery associates to ensure their accuracy and follows up with associate in event that an order was taken incorrectly
  • Prepares, packages, and prices product as directed
  • Maintains work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations and has food safety knowledge
  • Maintains a current knowledge of product
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Ability to train new employees
  • Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
