Job summary

Hy-Vee’s Bakery Manufacturing division seeks a Bakery Mixer to join the production team. The role involves mixing ingredients, maintaining line pace to meet quotas, ensuring quality, and preparing ingredients for the next day’s run.

The mixer also handles cleanup, records temperatures, and reports equipment issues to supervision. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and can perform arithmetic, follow instructions, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization.
• Ability to perform arithmetic with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies.

Responsibilities

• Mix ingredients for line's product from production list.
• Set and maintain pace of line to meet production quota.
• Maintain quality of product on production line.
• Report production line flow problems to supervisor.
• Prepare ingredients for next day's scheduled product run.
• Maintain cleanliness of work station during production.
• Ensure formula sheets are filled out and temperatures recorded.
• Inform supervisor of equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Clean and sterilize equipment at end of day.
• Unload products and ingredients into refrigeration or freezer units.
• Sort and organize products in storage areas.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
