Gerrity's Supermarkets in Lackawanna County is seeking a Bakery Manager to oversee daily bakery operations and ensure top-tier customer service. The role requires presenting a professional appearance and adhering to all store policies while supervising staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and taste or smell.
• Must be able to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand English.
• Must be able to lift, bend, and twist with up to 50-80 pounds.
• Comply fully with and enforce all safety policies and procedures and Dress Code policy.

Responsibilities

• Competent and working knowledge of all Essential Functions for all department positions.
• Assist in maintaining and controlling supplies, inventory and shrink.
• Assist in maintaining accurate procedures regarding invoices, transfers inventories and ordering.
• Assist with ordering sufficient quantities of raw materials for production while maintaining proper retail pricing.
• Responsible for product quality and freshness and proper rotation.
• Direct the stocking, display and rotation of bakery products in the customer area.
• Direct seasonal, sale, and demand items to be properly displayed.
• Communicate with Bakery Manager and subordinates.
• Maintain sanitary department in customer area, cases/coolers and back room areas.
• Maintain freezer and stocking including products as required.
• Complete and submit shrink reports.
• Apply food preparation procedures.

Job Description

The Bakery Manager is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Bakery Supervisor and Store Manager. for the successful operation of the Bakery Department. It is essential that as the Bakery Manager, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years old


• Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and taste or smell


• While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, and utilize full hand and digit functions, reach with hands and arms while manipulating objects


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus


• Must be able to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages


• Must be able to lift, bend, and twist with up to 50-80 pounds


• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
