Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets is seeking an entry-level hourly Bakery Leader to join our collaborative, customer-focused team. In this role you will help educate customers, supervise bakery staff, and ensure our products meet the highest standards of freshness and quality in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will gain exposure to store operations, learn company measures and standards, and progress through opportunities available every day as you develop leadership and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of work experience or a college degree.
• Computer skills required. In-store computer systems literacy is helpful.

• Supervise bakery staff and coordinate daily tasks.

What You'll Do

• Focus on company standards regarding merchandising, highlighting quality, freshness and uniqueness of products
• Coordinate the daily tasks of your team to ensure products are available timely for customers
• Use passion and knowledge to educate team members and customers on product offerings
• Proactively approach customers, answer questions, help locate items and offer suggestions to complete their meals

Requirements

• 1 or more years of work experience or a college degree
• Computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading a team
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new situations and subject matters
