Job summary

Wegmans in McLean, VA is seeking an entry-level hourly leader for our bakery. You’ll supervise a passionate team, ensure freshness, educate customers, and help meet daily goals.

This full-time role offers a starting pay of $21.75–$23.25 per hour, plus a bonus up to $1,500 and comprehensive benefits. Prior leadership experience is preferred, but training is provided to develop skills and leadership ability.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of work experience or a college degree.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Focus on merchandising standards to highlight quality, freshness and product uniqueness.
• Coordinate daily tasks of the team to ensure products are available to customers in a timely manner.
• Educate team members and customers on product offerings with passion and knowledge.
• Proactively assist customers, help locate items and suggest options to complete meals.

What You'll Do

• Focus on company standards regarding merchandising, highlighting quality, freshness and uniqueness of products
• Coordinate the daily tasks of your team to ensure products are available timely for customers
• Use passion and knowledge to educate team members and customers on product offerings
• Proactively approach customers, answer questions, help locate items and offer suggestions to complete your meals

Requirements

• 1 or more years of work experience or a college degree
• Computer skills

• Experience leading a team
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new situations and subject matters
