Job summary

Blue Sky Bakery, a leading thaw-and-serve bakery in Minnesota, seeks a Maintenance Lead to ensure peak performance, safety, and reliability of equipment and facilities. You will plan preventive maintenance, respond to failures, manage critical parts, and drive continuous improvements to keep production uninterrupted.

Responsibilities include coordinating with QA, Production, Safety, managing spare parts, and supporting capital projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or bakery setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of bakery production equipment, electrical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and maintenance standards in a food-grade facility.
• Proven problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as operational needs require.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, perform, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for bakery equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Collaborate with QA, Production, Safety to ensure efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GMP/HACCP/OSHA and food-grade standards.
• Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance programs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement of supplies and equipment.
• Assist with capital improvement projects and upgrades.
• Work with production, QA, and sanitation teams to minimize downtime.
