Job summary

Klosterman Baking Company seeks an Assistant Facility Engineer to support the Plant Engineer and lead the maintenance team in a bakery environment. You will manage equipment upkeep, safety compliance, and maintenance costs while driving reliability and productivity.

Responsibilities include supervising mechanics, coordinating with vendors, and implementing improvements to reduce costs and maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Assist the Plant Engineer and maintenance staff to operate the bakery's engineering needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, monitor, and manage maintenance costs and actions.
• Coach and mentor mechanics to meet performance objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assure equipment reliability to maximize production lines productivity.
• Supervise, coach, train, lead and motivate mechanics to meet planned objectives and respond to emergencies.
• Build staff capability by monitoring performance and providing feedback.
• Communicate shift status to following shift and other stakeholders.
• Identify deficiencies and initiate corrective actions.
• Assess mechanics' technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Provide training and counseling to assist staff in meeting standards.
• Interface with vendors and field service personnel.
• Develop and maintain part inventory and capital improvement plans.
• Oversee preventative maintenance compliance and effectiveness.
