Flowers Foods is offering an engineering apprenticeship program aimed at developing maintenance technicians for its bakery facilities. The apprenticeship emphasizes hands-on training in preventive and scheduled maintenance, with PLC learning and progression toward full-time opportunities.

Under supervision, apprentices gain experience in electrical and mechanical tasks, safety, and enterprise software usage, committing to at least 20 hours weekly while pursuing in-school instruction.

Competenze

• Completion of or enrollment in a curriculum of approximately 40 hours of industrial maintenance with 9 extra hours of PLC training.
• Aptitude and desire for continued training.
• Commitment to at least 20 hours per week on the job while in-school instruction.
• Relocation may be required.

• Learn and demonstrate the ability to perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Learn and demonstrate the ability to perform scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Learn and demonstrate ability to respond to and correct equipment stoppage/mechanical breakdown.
• Learn and demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair worn parts, motors, controllers.
• Demonstrate ability to operate machine shop equipment and tools as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and comply with company policies.
