Job summary

Sara Lee Frozen Bakery seeks an embedded R&D Technical Services Specialist to connect product and process expertise with manufacturing execution. You will lead bakery technical activities and partner with operations, R&D, FSQA, and engineering to support trials, commercialization, and process optimization.

The role includes translating formulas into repeatable processes, supporting CQV, and delivering technical training across shifts while driving cost savings and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Food Science, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or related field preferred.
• Experience in bakery production, bakery QA, or food manufacturing is highly recommended.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational, project management, and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to align bakery technical activities with project objectives.
• Translate formulas, product requirements, and packaging requirements into repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate trial planning and prework for successful plant trials.
• Lead investigations of product and process issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Identify manufacturing risks and opportunities to improve product consistency and process capability.
