Job summary

Azelis is seeking a bakery-focused product development specialist for a 1-year contract to drive innovation across our ingredient portfolio. You will support customers in new bakery applications and help move ingredients from concept to commercialization in collaboration with sales and admin teams.

You will develop new recipes, research markets, source materials, run trials, and prepare costings to ensure profitable products. Strong baking knowledge and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in industry, technical or commercial
• Technical background in Baking or similar
• Knowledge of food fibers, proteins, starches, hydrocolloids and texturants
• Self-motivated to start up new initiatives to generate new business
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Creative to develop new means to generate interest and fill the sales pipeline
• Detail-oriented and highly organized

Responsibilities

• Develop new recipes/processes and modify existing recipes as needed
• Research markets and technologies to develop new product concepts
• Source raw materials from preferred suppliers
• Prepare product costings to ensure profitability
• Run trials of new products and approve monthly blends
• Support sales with new product offerings and customer requirements
• Educate customers on product applications and training
• Build strong relationships with assigned customers and provide technical support
• Utilize CRM and BI systems to capture and action data
