Job summary

Woods Supermarket is seeking a teammate to provide guests with an outstanding experience through exceptional service and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

The role supports the Bakery Deli/Store Manager, upholding Woods hospitality standards while helping to reach sales goals and keep shrinkage low. Primary duties include accurate product handling, friendly customer interactions, and cooperative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with outstanding service while supporting the manager in reaching sales goals and minimizing shrinkage.
• Deliver fast, friendly, accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Follow all product handling, labeling, packaging, and sanitation procedures.
• Assist in updating displays and maintaining department cleanliness.
• Complete miscellaneous tasks during peak periods as directed by management.

Job Description:

To provide guests with an outstanding experience through exceptional service while assisting the manager in reaching the sales goals and minimize shrinkage. Teammates will reach these goals through quality-prepared food and great guest service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer experience with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service, to create a positive shopping experience.
• To be courteous and helpful to other teammates
• Follows all technical manuals for processing of products, including label placement and packaging.
• Ensure that receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with company and vendor guidelines. Maintain a complete understanding of these policies.
• Ensures the proper sanitation of department, equipment, food handling, and preparation area are followed in accordance with company policies.
• Report or correct all unsafe conditions that could cause teammate or guest accidents.
• Report all teammate and guest accidents in accordance with established company policy to the manager on duty.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
• Prep, store, rotate and stock merchandise.
• To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers, which may include: substituting for absent teammates and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to guests during peak periods of business.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Grocery store setting. Inside work with variations in heat/cold/dust/humidity caused by the opening of store entrance doors. Some outside work may be required.

Education and Experience:

• A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
• Prior food handling experience preferred
