Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Wisconsin is seeking a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to deliver outstanding customer service, keep a safe and clean environment, and assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.

You will prepare bakery items per customer requests, offer samples, inform customers of specials, maintain inventory, ensure product freshness, follow food safety regulations, and work cooperatively in a fast-paced setting to help customers find what they need.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.
• Effective communication with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for transactions and measuring.
• Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will be able to inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use all equipment in bakery such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe, using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates.
