Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials and promotions.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure and mix ingredients per recipe with various utensils.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; verify sell-by dates.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep temperature logs.
• Create an welcoming environment and promote trust among associates and customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures; report issues.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs needed.
