Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Customer Service skills

  • Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
  • Use bakery equipment according to guidelines.
  • Follow food safety and temperature logs, prepare foods as instructed.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.
  • Check product quality, review dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Use kitchen equipment properly, including refrigerators, slicers, ovens, etc.
  • Manage inventory, stock, and merchandise labeling.
  • Report discrepancies and maintain store layout knowledge.
  • Stay updated on store ads and product knowledge.
  • Maintain temperature controls and safety standards.
  • Promote a respectful and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced environments, manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity, follow directions, and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
