Role-specific responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers about bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products ordered by customers, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
  • Using bakery equipment according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods following safety and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates.
  • Properly using kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, slicers, ovens, etc.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Knowing the store layout to assist customers efficiently.
  • Staying updated on current and upcoming promotions.
  • Maintaining knowledge of products and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Monitoring inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Ensuring proper temperature controls and maintaining logs.
  • Fostering trust and respect among team members.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
  • Reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
