Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various utensils and equipment.
9. Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
11. Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
14. Understand store layout and locate products when requested by customers.
15. Stay current with advertisements and seasonal promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
19. Promote trust and respect among associates.
20. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making them feel valued.
21. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
22. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
23. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
24. Report customer or employee accidents.
25. Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
26. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
27. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
28. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
29. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
30. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications
