Key Responsibilities:

• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise appropriately.
• Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.
• Properly operate kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to management.
• Be familiar with store layout and locate products efficiently.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and seasonal ads.
• Maintain knowledge of products and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
• Monitor inventory levels and note discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
• Promote a respectful and trustworthy environment among staff.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by engaging with them about products.
• Adhere to all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Report accidents involving customers or staff.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
