Responsibilities include:

• Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Providing customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommending deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
• Preparing foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Properly preparing, packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
• Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
• Using kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
• Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
• Understanding the store layout and locating products for customers.
• Staying current with advertisements and product knowledge to respond to customer questions and suggestions.
• Maintaining inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
• Ensuring proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, and logging temperatures.
• Promoting trust and respect among team members.
• Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
