Job Responsibilities:
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
- Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) following company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.
- Properly operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to management.
- Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
- Maintain knowledge of department products to answer questions and suggest items.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued.
- Adhere to all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
- Support a cooperative work environment, managing conflicts professionally.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
