Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
• Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods according to instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates and taking necessary actions.
• Maintain awareness of inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making suggestions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Operate equipment safely and perform preventive maintenance, notifying management of repairs needed.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts effectively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
