Key responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers about bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products ordered by customers, ensuring correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommending products to meet customer needs.
  • Using bakery equipment like refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens safely and according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients as per recipes.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates.
  • Properly using kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Knowing the store layout to assist customers efficiently.
  • Staying updated on current and upcoming promotions.
  • Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Monitoring inventory and stock conditions.
  • Ensuring proper storage temperatures and maintaining logs.
  • Fostering a respectful, welcoming environment for customers and staff.
  • Adhering to food safety and safety procedures, reporting hazards or accidents.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
