Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend bakery or deli items to customers.
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
  • Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, etc.
  • Maintain inventory and stock merchandise in the department.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Know products sold within the department to answer questions and suggest items.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, ensuring they feel valued.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
  • Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Notify management of accidents or safety issues.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
