Job Responsibilities:
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products ordered in correct portions to prevent shrink.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take necessary actions.
- Properly utilize kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Foster trust and respect among team members.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and report to management.
- Practice preventive maintenance on equipment and notify management of repairs.
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
- Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
