Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Providing customers with fresh products ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
- Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
- Labeling, packaging, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
- Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Properly using kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
- Knowing the store layout to locate products for customers.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Maintaining knowledge of department products to answer questions and suggest items.
- Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among associates.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforcing safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflict constructively.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
