Bakery/Deli Clerk (Finance)

Minimum Requirements:
  • Customer Service skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations

  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed

Additional Duties:
  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to food safety standards and recipes.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review "sell by" dates.
  • Maintain store layout knowledge and locate products for customers.
  • Stay current with store ads and product knowledge.
  • Maintain inventory and stock levels, noting discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhere to all food safety and safety regulations, reporting issues as needed.
  • Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs.
  • Report accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
