Job Responsibilities:

  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Provide customers with ordered products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
  • Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
  • Properly operate kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, slicers, ovens, etc.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
  • Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and seasonal items.
  • Maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
  • Monitor inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
  • Promote trust and respect among team members.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and ensuring they feel valued.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report to management.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  • Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
  • Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
