Job summary

Cardenas Markets is seeking a Bakery Cook to prepare fresh baked goods daily by following recipes, labeling, and storing items. You will help assemble quality products in a fast-paced setting and serve customers while upholding company values.

The role requires baking knowledge, strong customer service, and the ability to multitask. Physical requirements include standing, walking, and occasional heavy lifting as part of a retail bakery team.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Handlers Card.
• Customer service and retail experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Organize products in display case and tables while ensuring fully-stocked cases.
• Assist with baking breads, cookies, and desserts and knowledge of basic baked products; operate standard baking equipment; multitask as needed.
• Communicate with management and baking team to fulfill requests and address issues from guests or employees.
• Conduct inventory to maintain proper levels.
• Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, sanitation, and food safety.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while rotating bakery items and discarding outdated items.
• Operate bakery equipment such as heat sources, mixers, and blenders.
• Take food orders in person and by telephone.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate personal customer service excellence and improve speed and efficiency of service.
