Position Objective

Assist customers by producing, stocking, and packaging bakery items efficiently, friendly, and courteously.

Job Details

Description: Bakery Clerk position reporting to the Bakery Manager. This is a non-exempt role.

Knowledge & Skills

• Obtain a food handling permit within 14 days of employment.
• Complete ongoing training per Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Essential Job Functions

• Implement customer service standards and assist at the bakery counter.
• Know products, procedures, and policies to answer customer questions accurately.
• Merchandise creatively, keep display cases clean and stocked.
• Meet productivity standards and follow rotation procedures.
• Ensure bakery is stocked, clean, and ready for the next shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, operate equipment safely.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and basic math and reading skills.

Non-Essential Job Functions

• Promote sales, resolve customer complaints, unload shipments, and support additional tasks as needed.

Physical Abilities

• Reaching, twisting, lifting up to 20 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 35 lbs, standing/walking for long periods, working in cold conditions, and climbing ladders.
