Job summary

ShopRite of Wallington in Wallington, NJ is seeking a Bakery Clerk to support the Bakery Manager with daily operations, pricing, stocking and merchandising. The role requires readiness to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varying temperatures, and deliver friendly customer service throughout shifts.

The ideal candidate demonstrates basic math, English proficiency and strict adherence to sanitation and safety standards. Training opportunities accompany a schedule that may include overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak English clearly.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push/pull, and lift 25 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work in varying temperatures.
• Handle fresh, dried, and processed foods; no allergy conflicts.
• tolerate dust and cleaning agents during duties.
• Maintain sanitation and QA standards per policy.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Work cooperatively with others and follow schedules.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Keep Bakery area clean, organized, and safe.
• Rotate and stock merchandise; ensure accurate signage.
• Assist Bakery Manager with pricing and display tasks.
• Follow safety, QA, and company policies at all times.
• Unload deliveries weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Maintain equipment and restock as required.
• Perform duties as assigned and stay punctual.
