Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Bakery Clerk to prepare, bake, package, and merchandise all bakery goods while delivering outstanding customer service. The role emphasizes cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced environment and requires 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education/experience.

The position involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, and flexible scheduling including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a High school diploma or equivalent; with 1-2 years Bakery experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
• Able to answer phones and take special orders
• General housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks; weigh and label products

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented; maintain bakery cleanliness
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment; sweep and remove spills
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy; manage rotation of bakery products and discard outdated items
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
• Thrive in a fast paced environment and communicate with the team
