Position: Bakery Clerk (Part-Time, Hourly)

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Greet, assist, and process transactions with customers politely.
2. Bake, wrap, package, and sell various baked goods.
3. Prepare bread, rolls, buns, cakes, pies, pastries, and brownies.
4. Maintain safety standards for perishables and stay updated on safety procedures.
5. Transport and stock goods within the department.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety codes, check pricing and expiration dates, and keep the area organized.
7. Monitor and record cooler/freezer temperatures and perform maintenance.
8. Perform miscellaneous tasks and assist other departments as needed.
9. Stay informed about health and safety standards, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
10. Understand and interpret merchandising labels, order codes, reports, and invoices.
11. Follow complex verbal instructions regarding store policies and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

• Basic mathematics skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service or bakery preferred.
• Experience with baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, fryers, and scales.

Specific Tasks:

• Lifting, twisting, moving, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain signage and pricing accuracy.
• Handle cash, credit/debit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchers.
• Respond promptly and politely to customer, coworker, and vendor inquiries.
• Use store communication systems properly.

Work Environment:

Indoor setting with temperature and humidity variations due to equipment and backdoor access. All employees must adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
