Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston is seeking a friendly Bakery Clerk at Store 005 Houston-Mykawa to provide attentive service and support bakery operations.

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will assist customers, stock and clean shelves, take special orders, and work with the Baker on items to bake or decorate. The role involves lifting and standing during shifts.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English with ability to read/understand simple instructions and product labels.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate with public and staff.
• Regularly lift up to 25–60 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service and assist Bakery Manager in daily tasks.
• Clean shelves and display cases, rotate self-serve displays, and assist with bakery purchases.
• Assist with special orders and coordinate with the Baker on items to bake or decorate.
• Help with department cleaning and floor maintenance as needed.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery.

The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department. They will assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases, and clean, fill, and rotate the self‑serve displays that are both in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders and will also work with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. This position will also help in the department cleaning by hosing down the floors with soap and water to ensure the department cleanliness.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
