A leading grocery store is seeking a Bakery Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support bakery operations. The role involves assisting customers, maintaining cleanliness, and taking special orders. Applicants must have a Food Handler Card and be prepared for a fast-paced work environment.
Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and performs various tasks within the bakery.
The Bakery Clerk offers friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers in the Bakery department. Responsibilities include assisting customers with bakery purchases, cleaning shelving and display cases, and maintaining the self-serve displays both in the front of the store and adjacent to the bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders and collaborate with the Baker to determine which items need baking or decorating. Additionally, the position involves cleaning duties such as hosing down floors with soap and water to ensure department cleanliness.
The work environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store. Essential functions include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory demands. A Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for all positions involving preparation, handling, or serving food.
Hourly Pay Range: Minimum wage (depending on location) up to $16 per hour.
