Overview

Job Summary

The Bakery Associate scales, mixes, bakes, and displays bakery goods. Maintains proper inventory levels, ensures cleanliness and appearance of the bakery department, and provides friendly, courteous service to customers. Performs other related work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage customers, providing friendly service and ensuring a positive atmosphere.
• Produce bakery items for retail, including breads, rolls, croissants, and cakes.
• Operate, clean, and maintain bakery equipment and work area, ensuring safety and sanitation standards.
• Package, label, and display bakery products attractively, following company procedures.
• Assist customers with inquiries, special orders, and suggestive selling.
• Manage inventory, restock shelves, and ensure product quality and freshness.
• Follow recipes and production guides, handle ingredients, and operate baking machinery.
• Open and close the bakery according to procedures.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep the bakery area safe and sanitary.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to provide friendly, courteous service consistently.
• Work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull heavy loads, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Perform basic math and read/understand instructions and recipes.
• Must be 18 years or older and hold a Food Handlers Certification (per state laws).

Machines and Equipment Operated

• Ovens, mixers, proof box, bakery tools, and cleaning equipment.

Pay Range

USD $16.94 - USD $24.60 per hour
