Job Summary

Packages, labels, and prices bakery products. Maintains stock levels and product quality by monitoring dates, appearance, and storage temperature controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating baked goods.
• Assists bakery personnel with preparing, packaging, labeling, and maintaining product displays.
• Promotes product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
• Stacks pallets and sorts product into correct locations according to Company standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to safety procedures.
• Provides friendly, customer-service-oriented assistance by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone or in person.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
• Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a bread slicer and a commercial oven.
• Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
• Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to identify hazards and take appropriate action or warn others.
• Ability to report potential hazards to a supervisor when necessary.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age required.
• Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for company business per policy.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Typically involves on-the-job training.

Physical Demands

• Close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
• Standing or walking for extended periods; use of hands for reaching and handling.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; occasional strenuous finger or hand movements.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, or stooping; lifting up to 40 lbs continuously and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Attendance at work is required.

Work Context And Environment

• Retail store setting with exposure to hot surfaces, cold conditions, heat, and damp environments.
• Exposure to equipment with sharp blades or edges and cleaning agents.
• Quiet to moderate noise levels.
