Job Summary

Bakery Clerk duties include packaging, labeling, and pricing bakery products. Maintain stock levels and product quality by monitoring dates, appearance, and storage temperature controls.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Adhere to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating baked goods.
• Assist bakery personnel with preparing, packaging, labeling, and maintaining product displays.
• Promote product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
• Stack pallets and sort product into correct locations according to Company efficiency standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by following safety procedures.
• Provide friendly, customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone or in person.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
• Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a bread slicer and commercial oven.
• Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
• Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Typically involves on-the-job training.

• Frequently exposed to hot surfaces, extreme cold and heat (non-weather), wet or damp conditions.
