Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods.
• Provide high-level customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, presented, and the bakery area remains clean.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and removing debris.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure accurate pricing, monitor product rotation, and discard outdated items.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable, reliable, and able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills.
• Possess good communication skills, the ability to follow directions, and work well in a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and handling special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, and accurately weigh and label products.
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, and perform physical tasks including lifting trays up to 5 lbs., and transferring items up to 40 lbs. over distances.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
