The Category Manager (CM) Bakery at Stater Bros. Markets serves as the primary contact for cross-functional partners and vendors, driving reliable coordination to support profitable category growth and execution excellence.

Under guidance from Business Development Leadership, this role handles day-to-day item setup, price and cost maintenance, promotions, and merchandising plans. Using a collaborative, data-driven approach, the CM supports category reviews, ad planning, and vendor negotiations

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in Category Management or senior merchandising roles.
• Grocery/retail industry experience preferred.
• Category Management certification (e.g., CPSM) preferred.
• Strong Excel, data analysis, and reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Mansioni

• Serve as primary day-to-day contact for store ops, vendors, distribution, procurement, and marketing.
• Apply data-driven insights to support leadership in decision-making and category performance.
• Manage item setup, pricing, promotions, and contract-related updates.
• Lead price changes and monitor overrides to ensure pricing accuracy.
• Develop pricing strategies and seasonal promotions with cross-functional teams.
• Build and manage weekly ad plans and promotional calendars.
• Coordinate with vendors on product allocation and distribution plans.
• Support category reviews and cross-functional projects aligning to strategy.
• Prepare materials for Joint Business Planning and business reviews.
• Execute merchandising plans and assortments to meet store-level needs.
