As a Cake Decorator, you will apply proper decorating techniques and maintain product quality by following established guidelines. Your duties include preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products daily, while adhering to all department and food safety standards.

Work Details

Customer Service

• Providing superior customer service
• Taking cake orders accurately via phone or in person
• Assisting customers with product questions and suggestions
• Using suggestive selling techniques to increase sales

Production

• Applying decorating techniques based on visual training aids (VTAs)
• Writing on cakes with icing upon request
• Following daily production lists and ensuring quality control
• Ensuring timely display of products in the showcase

Food Service

• Preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products
• Slicing, labeling, and rotating products
• Recording production and shrink data for planning

Food Safety

• Maintaining sanitation standards
• Complying with all food safety and sanitation policies
• Operating and maintaining equipment properly

Candidate Background

• Minimum age 18
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience
• Completion of company orientation, safety, and online training

Physical Requirements

Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment, perform detailed tasks, and work with customers attentively. Must be able to stand, reach, grasp, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull, pinch, and use fine motor skills. Exposure to various conditions such as wet, cold, hot, and loud environments is possible. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and manage loads exceeding 25 lbs safely.
