Job summary

ShopRite of Northvale in New Jersey is seeking a Cake Decorator to support the Bakery Manager with baking, dough mixing, icing, packaging, filling and decorating of pastry items in the Bakery Department; to maintain a neat, clean and visually appealing department and to perform other tasks as required in an efficient and safe manner, within Company policy.

This role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English.
• Assist Bakery Manager.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25–50 lbs.
• Work in varying temperatures.
• Work with food ingredients and avoid allergen exposure.
• Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Follow schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Keep a clean, safe work environment.
• Maintain sanitation and QA standards.
• Prepare trays and package items.
• Follow recipes and weights per standards.
• Rotate merchandise for freshness.
• Ensure accurate signage for the department.
• Promote current promotions to customers.
• Assist in other departments as needed.
